Free Lindsay Lohan!

Free Lindsay:

We here @ The Committee to Terminate The Incarceration of Lindsay Lohan advocate the immediate and unconditional release of Lindsay Lohan. We advocate this for several reasons:

1) Economic: We are concerned that with Ms Lohan in jail, the US economy will take a dive. The hair weave business alone could go belly up. Also, the fashion industry will be impacted. No one ever looked good on the red carpet in an orange jump suit. We concede some of the economic loss may be offset by the sale of "Free Lindsay" T-Shirts.

2) Social: Who is the media going to hound with her out of the mugshot, I mean picture? Mel Gibson may be catching the first boat to Down Under, "The Hills" is no more. Oh well, there is the Jersey Shore cast.

3) Political: The Tea Party movement is sure to seize on this to legitimize their existence. She could be a martyr for their cause. (And look good doing it)This is exactly what Al-Qaeda wants.

4) Foreign Policy: Amnesty International is sure to jump all over us for jailing a woman who is prettier than the presiding judge. If the attractive are no actually having to go to jail, what does this mean for the non-attractive? The guys from Jack Ass better beware. The pressure on the British to jail Naomi Campbell could jeopardize the NATO alliance.

Celebrity Update-Kim Kardashian's Butt

Hi I'm Kim Kardashian's butt. Not Kim, but her booty. You may wonder why I am using this lowly blog. It is because I am hungry. Hungry for attention! Why can't ESPN or E! or Bravo do a one hour special on me? Did you know that in some 3rd world countries, I am used as a substitute for the gold standard? Or that I can influence the stock market simply by having my right cheek point up or down. I almost had a historic peace agreement between the Palestinians and Israelis until Madeline Albright's booty butted in. (I am being generous by calling that a booty instead of what it really is a, battleship). Here are some things I am not: A role model or educated. Although I am well rounded. Well gotta go. Somewhere someone wants to make a pilgrimage to me like a healing visit to the Lourdes Shrine. Here's the MikePod:

Cracker: "Cracker"
Lightning Hopkins: "Complete Alladin Recordings"
Snow Patrol: "Eyes Open"
Steve Miller Band: "Complete Greatest Hits"

Things I'm Not Reading

I post things I read all the time. I thought to be different, I would post things I am not reading:

Suzanne Sommers: Touch Me. Don't get to excited. From the woman who brought you the ThighMaster (I might open a chicken restaurant with that name, serving only thighs) and She's The Sheriff, here is a penetrating look @ the soul of a woman who makes Bo Derek look like Einstein.

Mr. T: The Man With The Gold Since he can remove my ass @ will, I will only describe my encounter with him in the early '90s. I was walking back from Rose Records in Chicago (memba record stores?) and coming up Adams I saw a Red Rolls Royce convertible with the plate of "Mr. T" Sure enough @ a stoplight I look over and it is him. I'd know that haircut anywhere.
Lots of people were screaming and yelling @ him. He waved and then he drove off.

Alright, I've bored you enough now, here's the MikePod:

Muddy Waters: "I'm Ready"
Alcatrazz: Disturbing The Peace"
Beatles: "Revolver" UK Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Stereo
Mother Love Bone: "Apple"
Chuck Berry: "Golden Hits"
Foreigner: "Records" I have to stop here. What a cheap compilation this is. 10 songs, 9 of which were edited down. 1 lousy unreleased version of "Hot Blodded"
Jeff Beck: There And Back (If he had a sense of humor, he'd call it There and Beck!
Nine Inch Nails: THe Slip"

Old Ladies & Racks

Got pulverized twice this week by 2 old ladies who were returning paperbacks to the train station book rack. Get your mind out of the gutter. I beat ya to it! Anyway, because the station can be crowded, I was standing in front of the rack, usually a place I like to be, and 2 old ladies on successive days (daze?) ran into me to check out the books there. One looked @ me like I should beg her for forgiveness. She looked like Clara Peller. Before she died. Hey here's a question for you. Did you ever notice when a tv commercial runs for insurance that is geared to the elderly, the advertiser always notes that "there are no forms to fill out." I guess I'll know if I am getting old if I get cranky filling out forms.

Read a new book, thanks Mary!

MikePod:

Get a room!

I work out a lot. Yeah, I know doesn't look like it. Anyway, there is a guy who happens to be in the gym who sounds like he is effing someone anytime he lifts a weight. It can be comical and uncomfortable. Kind of like Larry King, right? I was wondering what does he do when he is done? Smoke a cig? Glass of wine? Tell the weights that it was fun and he will call soon? Makes me glad for the MikePod:

PJ Harvey: "Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea"

It would be funny if it wasn't so brutal

So I am increasing my intellectual firepower by reading biographies of Lenin
and that kind soul Stalin, about 1100 pages total. I saw this picture in the book and I wanted to see if there were any other ridiculous Soviet era propaganda pics and there's something for everyone on the Internet. I found this site and spent a half hour laughing my ass off. I might actually put this one in my office. That's what I get for reading about a failed ideology.OK Marx, check this out:

Crappy Holidaze

Consuming a lot of beer lately. In fact here's a couple of beer reviews.I am keeping the intellectual firepower going by finishing 2 more books I also can't stop watching Sabado Gigante. Miss Santita this week. I think that means hot chicks in gold lame bikinis.

It really does not take much to entertain me. Check out People of Walmart, chronicling the Humanutty of discount shoppers. Food Network humor. Who would have thought one could find humor in the Food Network. Any website that bashes Guy Fieri is OK w/me. Coming soon: MikePod update. Hey, I had lunch with some coworkers @
Tutto Italiano
downtown. The all female bar maidens looked like strippers. One girl had an Xmas inspired top that had so much cleavage I could have built a house there.

Broadcasting in Stereo-Type

Had a cold over the weekend. Still have it. Would you like it? I don't need it anymore, ha ha! Anyway, while I was waiting to take some meds, the new MTV series "Jersey Shore" came on. No, this is not about Paulie's family (who I actually met once on a work related function), rather it is about 8 bone headed 20 somethings who all happen to be Italian and sharing a home on the shore for the "summah." Don't worry, this show fits into the fine MTV tradition of informing and educating viewers.... about how to be self centered, loud, obnoxious and drunk a good deal of the time. I feel better about myself after seeing this show because I am that way only on the weekends! If Al-Queda watches this, they will plan future US attacks when these people come of age. I have no faith in the youth of today. Time for more NyQuil.

Reviewed another beer Finished another book

MikePod:
Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends: "Heavy Friends" Features Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Jeff Beck, Noel Redding and the worst vocalist this side of the fat, drunk, middle aged white guy who sings Motown songs @weddings.

Morrissey: "Maladjusted" (I used to call myself this when I did radio in college)Came out in 1994. I missed it then, but picked up the 2009 remaster and the sound is great and ole Moz rocked on this one.
